Villa Lotea is something special, not a one out of a dozen. It stands on a quiet spot in the âMolinetaâ area, a sought after hamlet with an interesting history. Via a shortcut you can walk to Frigiliana in 15 minutes. The villa offers wonderful outside areas and stunning views across the countryside down to the coast. Inside, itâs charming, comfortable and well taken care of by its owners.
"La Molineta" is a hamlet of approximately 20 houses that nestles between Nerja and Frigiliana. Despite being small and quite charming, this complex actually has an interesting historical, industrial past. From around 1850 and during a large part of the 20th it operated as a flour mill, a cane syrup mill and a bakery. From 1965 on, the industrial buildings gradually got bought by, mostly, foreigners and haven been converted into mansions or villas, yet preserving the original structure of the buildings. Villa Lotea used to be the workersâ home of a finca that borders La Molineta, so the villa didnât actually have an industrial function. But there is also an advantage to this: itâs set away from the main road and doesnât suffer any traffic noise, making it the perfect spot for a comfortable, peaceful and relaxing holiday. The villa boasts a large outside area with a kidney shaped pool (7.5 x 3.5 metres, 1.1 to 1.75 metres deep) and a spacious terracotta paved terrace with pretty plants and benches as well as sun loungers to stretch out on. From the pool, steps lead up to the verandah, which will be you favorite spot for you alfresco diners â a brick barbecue and wooden patio furniture are provided. From all terraces you will enjoy fantastic views along the gorge and towards the coast.
Tastefully furnished and decorated throughout, the villa has been built in traditional Andalusian style, with thick, whitewashed walls, beams and terracotta floors. It has been restored with love and care, evoking a homely feel. The spacious living/dining room is set on the ground floor and offers comfortable sofas, a dining table for 6 persons, wood-burning stove, radio/CD player and satellite TV with DVD player. From here, doors open directly to the pool terrace while a few steps lead to a split-level floor where you will find the kitchen. It has all you need for a comfortable stay: a vitro hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, electric oven, dishwasher and all kinds of kitchen utensils. The washing machine is placed in the shower room on this floor, including wash basin.Steps lead up to the 3 bedrooms that consist of 1 double and 2 twin. Each bedroom has a bright and fresh ambiance and is provided with a large wardrobe. There is a full bathroom with bath/shower-over, WC, wash basin and bidet.A WiFi internet connection is provided free of charge.
