A beautiful villa, located on the Southern most point of Spain, overlooking the Strait of Gibraltar with glimpses of Morocco in the distance. The house is simple, but perfectly so, mirroring all the elements of a dream home - high ceilings, interconnected spaces, no corridors, ceiling to floor windows and the illusion of the garden as part of the houses' interior.
In Los Alcornocales's Natural Park, at a 10 minutes drive from Tarifa Town and best beaches, we found this modern style villa with scenic views to the sea and African coast. The villa is set within the quiet residential area of "El Cuartón", located within the municipality of Tarifa. The famous white beaches and the town centre (7 km) are less then 10 minutes drive from here. There is a good restaurant at a few minutes walk (Mesón de Sancho) for those who don't want to drink and drive. From the living room, you walk out onto a relaxing verandah terrace equipped with barbecue and patio furniture, a perfect spot for your alfresco dinners. Here, you will enjoy the same spectacular views out to the Jebel Musa Mountain on the African coast. It is supposed to be the second Pillar of Hercules. A stairs leads down to the pool (sized 10 x 4m) and south facing, lawn garden, set on a 2000m2 plot. For a day trip, the rock of Gibraltar is only 45 minutes away, while the cities of Cádiz and Jerez de la Frontera (nearest airport) are just an hour drive. The city of Málaga with its popular Picasso museum is one and half hour away. The famouse golf courses of Sotogrande (a.o. Valderrama Golf) are just 45 minutes drive from here.Please note: the staircase leading down from the verandah to the pool area is not protected, which may be dangerous for very young children.
The minimalist interior features a mix of white tones and textures in every room, with subtle Moorish accents emphasizing its' location near Morocco. Despite its' simplicity, we find this a cozy and comforting place to host friends and family. The spacious living is centered around the fireplace and invites to relax in, listen to music and just be together. A Plasma TV with satellite system, DVD and music equipment are provided. The spacious open-plan kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, freezer, oven, micro, dishwasher and washingmachine, whilst the adjacent dining area is
very practical so nearby the kitchen. On the same floor there are two bedrooms (one double, one twin) sharing a full bathroom. At the far end of the living room, stairs go down to a half-open third bedroom with sitting area and own wc room. On the first floor, the large master bedroom occupies a dominant position with ceiling to floor windows overlooking the Strait of Gibraltar. This bedroom has an open-plan wardrope and it's own bathroom. All together, a wonderful dream home for a splendid holiday.
