Five kilometers east of Nerja (11.3 km), a fully surfaced country road drops in a beautiful valley in the Natural Park of the Sierra de Almijara. With the distant tinkling sound of goat bells and the flow of the little river Rio de la Miel below, this villa rests in a little paradise in the south of Spain. Your private swimming pool (7x4 m) hangs like a balcony over the valley and offers stunning views on the mountain range. The surroundings of the house are very attractive with a built-in barbecue for very pleasant alfresco dining on the shaded veranda. Patio furniture and sun loungers are provided. Walkers and hikers will enjoy plenty of options: discover the valley, walk around the cliffs of Maro, or follow the route to the former sugar refining factory, a jewel of the areaâs archaeological attractions. The tourist office in Nerja will also suggest a number of great walks in the area. If you fancy a dip in the ocean, you will love the beach which is only a 10-minute drive away. The village of Maro (7.9 km), where you will find tapas bars, restaurants and family-run shops is a 15-minute drive.Notes:- The last 800 m of the road are rather narrow with no guard rails, which may be frightening to less adventurous persons.- There is no coverage for mobile phones in this area. The owners use aplications such as WhatsApp, since there is (free) WiFi internet available.- Air conditioning is available (free of charge).
With all the rooms on one floor and a rustic decoration with comfortable furniture, the cottage provides a warm ambience. The living/dining room has an open fireplace, a dining table for 8, satellite TV and a DVD player. The kitchen is very spacious, completely equipped with a ceramic hob, microwave, oven, dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer and all kinds of kitchen utensils. The washing machine is outside in the barbecue area. There are two double bedrooms and one twin; a full bathroom with a bath and overhead shower, a washbasin and WC and a shower room with washbasin and WC complete this accomodation.Notes:- A WiFi internet connection is available (free of charge).- Air conditioning is available throughout the house (free of charge).

My wife, 8YO daughter & I took this villa for 2 weeks in Aug 15. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a private & peaceful place to stay in southern Spain. The villa is located about 25 mins from Nerja, up a winding mountain road - don't be put off. Villa is very clean and tidy. Very quite at night. Dark skies. Lovely safe pool. BBQ. The owners are really lovely. Our baggage got lost in transit and they helped us with shopping for "essentials". You'll find great local scenery and wildlife - we loved watching the eagles soar above the mountains. The villa has easy access to Nerja, La Herradura & Almuneca, where you'll find great beaches (some sandy some stoney), restaurants and shops. This place ticked all the boxes for us.
